I love this soft pastel work by artist, John Markese. About the work he had this to say: “This wonderful portrait was done on New Year’s Eve at the Palette & Chisel in Chicago, Illinois. I love the yellows and violets in the skin tones up against the cool greys in the highlights. Everything was falling into place that day, so I had time to render her lovely gold and onyx earring which adds quite a lot compositionally. I am very pleased with this portrait.”
